We are very excited to announce the release of the next issue in the series of English books for young and old that introduce readers to the world and culture of ancient Greece through the iconic heroines of mythology, focusing on the mythical figure of Ariadne.
Whether they are adaptations of classic tragedies by Euripides, Aeschylus, and Sophocles, or original works based on well-known sources, these books aim to take readers on a journey full of adventure, drama, death, and love, while also focusing on the women who played such an important role in our history - and who often continue to be remembered as mere spectators.
The series began with the books Medea, Circe, Electra, continued with Antigone and Helen, and is now culminating in the release of Ariadne. Each book can be read separately, and you can start reading in any order; however, there is a central thread that ultimately connects all these characters and provides a broader view of what it was like to be a woman in the ancient Greek world.
The unique covers of the series have been illustrated by the talented illustrator Little Miss Grumpy. Born and raised in Athens, she dreamed of becoming an actress but eventually became one of the most promising illustrators of her generation. She designs, sketches, and paints for books and newspapers, creating objects with… personality.
