Its construction distributes heat evenly, allowing food to cook in its own juices. It is suitable for contact with food and for use in an oven, but should not be placed on an electric burner.
Before the first 5 uses, soak it in water for 45 minutes. Cook over a low flame and avoid sudden temperature changes. For the first 7–8 washes, use only warm water and baking soda; do not wash it in a dishwasher.
