Candidiasis is a vaginal infectious disease caused by fungi of the genus Candida. Under normal conditions, this fungus is present in the vaginal ecosystem, in balance with other species. Factors such as a decrease in the immune system's defense and the therapeutic use of antibiotics can disrupt this balance, favoring the reproduction of the fungus.
