The NetGear Nighthawk RS200 is a router that connects to other devices, such as computers, mobiles, and televisions, either wirelessly or via cable, sharing internet access. It needs to be connected to a modem for internet access.
It broadcasts a signal on two frequencies, 2.4 & 5GHz. The 2.4GHz frequency is more widespread with a long range, while the 5GHz provides higher speed but is more sensitive to obstacles like walls, which reduces its range. The 5GHz frequency has fewer interferences from other networks.
The device features VPN (Virtual Private Network) setup, allowing traffic from all devices on the network to pass through it. This provides anonymity and access to geographically restricted content.
With MAC address filtering, it allows specific devices to connect based on their unique MAC address, blocking all other devices. It also offers next-generation WPA3 security, with enhanced password protection and secure device connection.
