Description

The book analyzes the fundamental economic, environmental, institutional, and international dimensions of the development process. It consists of 9 chapters.

Chapters 1 to 4 aim to present the key parameters of development, focusing on the concept of economic development, with particular emphasis on sustainable development and green growth. The topics of measuring economic development and human development are examined, as well as the economic and social characteristics of low-level development countries, along with the broader economic, political, social, and international factors that hinder development.

Chapter 5 examines the problems of income inequality and poverty, as well as their relationships with economic development. Chapter 6 analyzes the importance of natural resources and the environment in the development process, focusing on exploring the relationships between economic development and human development on one hand, and environmental sustainability on the other.

Chapter 7 systematically examines the concept and key dimensions of governance and thoroughly analyzes the relationships between governance and economic development, fundamentally considering that governance serves as a "quasi" factor of production that contributes to economic development but is also influenced by it.

Chapter 8 examines the relationships between international trade and development. Within this chapter, a brief introduction to the Theory of International Trade is provided, outlining the role of large enterprises in international trade. Finally, Chapter 9 investigates the relationships between globalization and development, with particular emphasis on the definition, measurement, and impacts of the phenomenon.
