The board game Tzolk'in: The Mayan Calendar is an economic game for 2–4 players. Players represent different Mayan tribes and place workers on large, interconnected cogwheels, which move them through different action spaces as they rotate.
On each turn, players place one or more workers on the lowest visible space of the wheels, or collect one or more workers to perform actions based on their positions. Placing workers costs corn, which serves as the game's currency. Actions further along the wheels' paths are more valuable, but players cannot skip their turn and, if all their workers are on the wheels, they must collect some. The game ends after one full rotation of the central Tzolkin wheel, while victory can be achieved through different strategies, such as placing crystal skulls in deep caves or building temples.
