Oerlikon electrodes are rutile type with a medium coating. They are suitable for welding thin sheets and for continuous seams, where they can be kept in contact with the workpiece without the risk of the weld bead becoming convex.

They provide automatic ignition and re-ignition, produce minimal spatter, and create a smooth-looking weld seam.
