Simple and easy-to-use device. Mechanically, it fit perfectly with the SSD M.2 SATA III (2280 M-key) card I had. It does indeed accept shorter cards as well.
As for speed, I don't know if it reaches what it promises (6 GBit/sec) but it did reach the maximum sequential read/write speed of the SSD card I installed (450 MByte/sec). With this card, large file transfers reached 370 MByte/sec.

We had a SATA type SSD with an M.2 port and size 2280 that experienced a failure in the NTFS file system and the computer wouldn't boot. I put the SSD in this adapter and connected it to another computer with Windows. It recognized the SSD immediately, repaired the file system, and I was able to get a copy of the files I wanted. I put the SSD back in the original computer and it worked normally without issues. The adapter also accepts shorter M.2 drives with a plastic clip that fits into the corresponding slot to hold it in place. The case closes well, has a USB-C port, and includes two cables, one USB-C and one USB-A, for use with different devices.

It has all the accessories, a type C to USB A cable, and it has a dongle for converting USB A to USB C. The card does NOT fit, it is too narrow and no card can go in.
