In Spectacular, players create and develop their own zoo for vulnerable species. To protect the species, they must ensure breeding in each habitat.

During the game, players choose animal tiles and dice, where the dice represent food for the animals. The color of the dice must match the color of the habitat of the animal tiles. Each round requires significant decisions on choosing a die of a specific value or securing an animal tile that may not be available again.

At the end of the game, for each area that includes connected tiles of the same habitat, players earn points based on the sum of the dice of that color. However, points are only awarded if the dice values of 1 or 2 are placed on specific "family" tiles within the habitat! During the game, you will also construct observatories, which will earn you points for all three dice adjacent to them.

To make your zoo even more impressive, you also aim to collect as many different species as possible, with increasing points for greater variety. Ultimately, the player with the most points wins the game.

After a few games, you can set challenges by choosing three (out of 18) mission tiles. While they offer the possibility for higher points, they also increase the difficulty level of the game.

Spectacular provides simultaneous play and ensures interaction between players, as your opponents' decisions affect which tiles and dice are available to you. The game also comes with asymmetric player boards (on their reverse side).

Spectacular offers simple rules, quick setup, short playtime, attractive puzzles, and can be played by 1 to 6 players with minimal waiting time, even with a larger number of players!
