The BOSCH GMS 120-27 detector really is a good detector. Plumbers don’t need a more expensive one. It works perfectly. It gave me a strong reading for metal, which was actually an external copper pipe behind the single wall. That is, at 12 centimetres, as it says. And in the floor, at a spot where I knew there was a copper pipe. It also detected the old, rotten iron pipe exactly where it ran through the floor. It also detects electrical wiring. For anyone drilling holes or digging into floors and walls, using it before using a digging/drilling tool is essential! It’s worth buying! Don’t think twice.

First time I used a metal detector and I found it incredibly easy to use and quite accurate in detecting wires and iron in columns and beams. The only observation, since I also tried it in an apartment without electricity, is that in this case it does not distinguish electrical wires from the reinforcement of the concrete and simply detects everything as metal, but it still finds them easily and accurately.

As an engineer, the purchase was made for detecting the presence of metal elements and reinforcement in structural components. It detects the presence of metal elements within concrete to a depth of at least up to 5 centimeters. It performs simple detection and helps distinguish between reinforced and non-reinforced elements. It cannot provide you with cross-sections, distances, reinforcement cover, etc. However, the general method of reinforcement of an element, e.g., with stirrups, is definitely understood. For my work and for the use I need it for during inspections, it is a very good tool.
