Description

The alcohol-based dye Teinture Française® has been specifically designed for use on low-porosity leathers, allowing for effective penetration. It is intended exclusively for dyeing lighter shades.

You can create your own shades, as all dyes mix fully with each other.

French product.

Uses:

  • Suitable for all smooth leathers with adequate porous surface, as well as for suede, nubuck, and velvet leathers.
  • Ideal for footwear and leather goods.
  • Professionals can also dye patent leather, but only with the BLACK BASE dye to ensure uniform color. It is important not to prepare or sand the patent leather prior to application.
  • For intensely pigmented leathers that have been treated with resins, it is recommended to prepare and remove the surface layer with Saphir Décapant before application.

Instructions:

  • For preparation of smooth leathers, clean the surface with Saphir Décapant.
  • Check the porosity of the leather, generously wet the surface to see if water penetrates.
  • It is easy to see with the naked eye if the pores are closed or open.
  • Wearing gloves, apply the Teinture Française with the sponge provided in the packaging.
  • Repeat the process if necessary, for a uniform and beautiful result!
  • Allow the leather to dry for 1 hour.

Tips:

  • On patent leathers, coated and protected leathers (which make up the majority of leathers in the market), the use of the Deep Black version is not recommended due to reduced penetration capability. For this type of leather, applying the Base Black is the best option for a uniform result.
  • For the best finish, it is recommended to use Saphir products specifically suitable for the type of leather you are handling:
    • Smooth Leathers: In good condition: Creme Surfine, Pate de Lux, Canadian, Creme Universelle. Worn: Juvacuir. Very worn: Creme Renovatrice.
    • Suede and Nubuck Leathers: Renovetine (with a brush for suede and nubuck).
  • Before general use, test first on a hidden spot of the footwear to avoid discolorations!
