Apollo, the god of Light, the god of Music, the god of Medicine, the god of Archery, the god of Mysteries, the god of the Art of Divination. The god who established the most famous oracle of all time, an oracle visited daily by crowds from all social classes, to pose their questions and receive the renowned answers of the Pythia. A god who, like the other gods, intervened in the affairs of men and, concerning the Greeks, at least in Troy, took the side against them. A god for whom people wrote paeans.

Dionysus, the conquering god, as he is said to have conquered nearly the entire known world at that time, Bacchus, the god who established the Bacchic ceremonies and the Bacchic mysteries, the god who discovered the vine and wine. A god for whom people wrote Dithyrambs. Both became gods because their father was Zeus. Apollo, who was included among the twelve gods of Olympus, also had a divine mother, while Dionysus had a mortal mother, who also became a goddess.
