The Sky-Watcher telescope uses a Klevtsov-Cassegrain catadioptric optical system with primary and secondary mirrors, as well as a small corrective lens that folds the focal length into a relatively short tube. It is suitable for observing double stars, planets, details on the Moon’s surface, and terrestrial objects.
The motorized Virtuoso GTI mount slews to selected objects and tracks them. It connects wirelessly to a smartphone via its own WLAN and is controlled with the free SynScan app for iOS and Android. No internet connection is required after the app has been installed. The Freedom-Find dual encoder allows you to move the telescope manually without losing stored position information, enabling panoramic observation without using the motors.
The SynScan app includes a celestial object database, one-star and three-star alignment options, bright-star and north-level alignment, as well as features such as star tours, celestial object identification, remote control over the internet, user-defined objects, and Pointing Accuracy Enhancement (PAE). The mount can be placed on a tabletop tripod or on the supplied tripod with extendable legs, allowing the telescope to adapt to your observing position.
