When we visit a store with technology items, we see ultralight laptops, USB cables, the latest generation smartphones, smart digital watches, and even special cameras for YouTubers.
We usually associate technology with the latest electronic gadgets that, for better or worse, dominate our lives day by day. The thought of running out of battery or losing internet connection terrifies us, as if we would get lost in an unknown dimension of reality, without contact with the world.
However, technology is something much broader and, of course, much older; it affects our lives in many more ways than we can imagine. Thousands of years ago, an ancestor of modern humans struck one stone against another and created a flint knife. Thus began the great epic of technology, which has allowed us to even transcend the limits of our planet.
This journey is narrated by an android, isolated in a geothermal facility in Iceland after the mid-21st century, which discovers the digital diaries of a physics professor named David Kaye. These diaries were stored that fateful summer of 2046, when humanity essentially vanished from the Earth.
