I threw it away before I used it. The telescopic part has a ring at the end like a wedge with threads that is supposed to go inside the wider tube so you can tighten or loosen it and adjust the height. I couldn't get it into the wider tube properly no matter what, and in the end I broke it trying various ways to put it in correctly and get it all the way inside the tube. The previous similar bathroom shelf I had was a much higher quality construction and the mechanism was much sturdier on the telescopic rod and worked fine, I just decided to replace it because the tube rusted from the moisture. I wouldn't buy it a second time.
