Description

The SLZB-06 is a universal Zigbee adapter independent of platform with Ethernet, PoE, USB, and Wi-Fi capabilities. You can connect the device locally via USB to the hub, via a wired Ethernet connection - with PoE providing even power - or via Wi-Fi to the local hub.

The device is specifically designed to support smart home systems based on Zigbee, such as Zigbee2MQTT and ZHA. For a larger Zigbee network, multiple coordinators can be used with a single server, allowing you to expand the network size by installing more adapters.

The SLZB-06 device supports both Zigbee 3.0 modes: it can operate either as a coordinator or as a router. Switching the device's mode can be easily done by installing appropriate software via the web interface.

  • Hardware: The device uses the CC2652P processor and the ESP32 chip, providing a stable and reliable connection for simultaneous control of up to 200 Zigbee devices.
  • Interface: Supports USB, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi. The mode can be selected via the software.
  • Rechargeable power: Power via PoE or via Type-C connection.
  • Firmware Support: Open source software that users can update remotely.
  • Easy installation: Plug-and-play and comes with pre-installed software.
  • Antenna performance: 20 dB signal amplifier and 5 dB antenna for additional coverage and excellent signal quality.

The package includes:

  • Zigbee Coordinator SLZB-06
  • 5 dB Antenna
  • Micro-USB to Type-C conversion cable
  • Screws and mounting accessories
  • Screwdrivers

Our houses are made of bricks, cement, and iron; we don't use drywall. If you want to cover floors and a plot, you will need more than 1-2 of these as routers... And only 1 coordinator. G. L.

If you are involved with Home Assistant, this is the tool that will make your life easier. Essentially, it takes on the task of communicating with all your smart home devices and sensors, and it does so reliably without lags or errors. You need to check the manual a bit, but it’s what will take your smart home setup to the next level. It can be powered via PoE as well as via USB. I will definitely buy more.

The SMLIGHT SLZB-06 is considered by many as the top standalone ZigBee coordinator for systems like Home Assistant, mainly due to its Ethernet/PoE capability, which allows for optimal placement for the best possible ZigBee network coverage. Its stability and flexibility make it an excellent choice for serious smart home enthusiasts.

Its main advantages highlighted in reviews are:
Ethernet & PoE (Power over Ethernet) connectivity: This is its biggest asset. It allows you to place the coordinator in an ideal central location in your home (where there is Ethernet/PoE cable) for better ZigBee network coverage, without depending on the location of your main server (e.g., Home Assistant) or interference from USB 3.0 ports.
Versatility: Supports connection via Ethernet, USB-C, and Wi-Fi (although Ethernet/PoE is recommended for stability).
Stability & Reliability: Uses the proven CC2652P chip from Texas Instruments, known for its reliability, especially with Zigbee2MQTT.
Independence from the Main System: Operates as an independent network device, relieving your main server from the USB load.
Easy Management: Has its own web interface for easy management, firmware updates (OTA), and mode switching (e.g., from coordinator to router).
Multi-Protocol Support: In addition to ZigBee, some models (like the 06M or with specific firmware) support Matter over Thread (though not simultaneously with ZigBee).
Powerful Antenna: Comes with a high-gain rotating antenna for greater range.
    ⚠️ Points of Attention
    Versions: There are various versions (e.g., SLZB-06, SLZB-06M, SLZB-06p7) with different chips (CC2652P, EFR32, CC2652P7).
SLZB-06 (CC2652P): Considered the most stable option, especially for Zigbee2MQTT.
SLZB-06M (EFR32): Has a faster processor, but is not yet as stable with Zigbee2MQTT, while recommended for ZHA (Zigbee Home Automation).
SLZB-06p7 (CC2652P7): Has more RAM and is recommended for networks with over 200 devices.
Protocol Operation: ZigBee and Matter/Thread cannot operate simultaneously. You must select the mode via the firmware.
