The film Digimon Adventure 02 Beginning reveals the secret behind the Chosen Children. In 2012, ten years after their adventures between Odaiba and the Digital World, Davis, his friends, and their Digimon partners remain close, even though they have taken different paths.
A giant Digi-Egg appears in the sky above Tokyo Tower, sending a message to the world. Then, Lui Ohwada appears before Davis and his friends with a broken Digivice. As past and future become intertwined, the Chosen Children, now adults, must choose their path amid the greatest crisis in Digimon history.
