A collection of 15 volumes of Hokusai's specialized instructional manuals, known as 'e-tehon'. Of the approximately 300 printed works he created during his lifetime, a large percentage consisted of these manuals that showcase his great ability as a designer, as well as his rich imagination and humor. This collection includes over 800 illustrated instructions from 1812 to 1848. With each page faithfully reproduced according to the original works, the book reveals Hokusai's playful approach to design, with funny songs, images including letters (a precursor to today's emojis), contemporary designs for craftsmen, and, of course, dance movements. This comprehensive effort also includes a valuable work published shortly before his death, which is considered his main work, aiming to 'preserve all I have learned'.
