Description

Dominoes is one of the most popular games in the world for both young and old.

What is Dominoes? It is a game that uses long, rectangular tiles, also called bones. Each tile is divided in half, and each half has dots from 0 to 6.

Game Rules The most popular version of dominoes is the so-called block. The game begins with shuffling all the tiles, which are then distributed to the players (usually 7 tiles). One player starts by placing one of their tiles on the table. The next player must place their tile so that the number of dots on one end of their tile matches the number of dots on the end of the tile on the table. If a player does not have the appropriate tile, they lose their turn or must draw a tile from the deck if this option is allowed. The game continues until one player gets rid of all their tiles or until none of the players can make a move. The winner is the player who first gets rid of all their tiles or the one with the fewest points on their tiles when the game is blocked.

Game Variations Dominoes has many variations. Besides the aforementioned block, other popular ones include:

  • Score: players earn points for placing a tile that makes the total number of dots on the open ends a multiple of five.
  • Double Nine or Double Twelve: versions of the game with more tiles, where each tile can have from 0 to 9 or from 0 to 12 dots.
  • Mexican Train Dominoes: a more complex variation of the game, often played with more players, where each player creates their own "train" with tiles.

The set includes:

  • 28 Domino tiles
  • metal box

Size of a tile: approximately 5 cm x 2.5 cm x 1.5 cm.

Uses and Benefits Besides being a popular pastime, dominoes are often used as an educational tool to learn mathematics, develop logical and strategic skills. Playing dominoes can also improve concentration and social skills, as it requires players to interact and plan.

Dominoes is a game with a long history that remains very popular worldwide, both among children and adults.
