This book contains sixteen stories told to their grandchildren by three old men and an old woman.

Here you will read about Uncle Stavros and the Burmpoulia, Lady Fotini and the Corfu Easter, Uncle George with the taler and the ship's valve, and Uncle Nikos with the buffalo and the goat who were arguing about who eats more.

However, these are not the only interesting stories. Uncle Stavros also tells us about the olive tree, Lady Fotini about the history of the vasilopita, and Uncle George about the Dimitria, while there are others that are legends and traditions of our homeland.

A common characteristic of all these stories is that they were all told to their little grandchildren by the fireplace.
