Description

The great tiger Shere Khan becomes enraged when a pair of wolves take under their protection a "human cub" they found next to their cave. They call him Mowgli and decide to raise him as a member of their pack. As the child grows up, he also has the bear Baloo and the panther Bagheera on his side. But is their friendship enough for him to survive? And what will happen when he returns to the humans?

The Jungle Book, an anthology with seven stories first published in 1894, is one of the most famous books of contemporary children's literature in Europe. In 1895, The Second Jungle Book was published, containing eight chapters. This edition includes the first three stories from the original book, which are also the most well-known to children of yesterday and today, mainly thanks to their cinematic adaptation in 1967 by Disney.

This is the "Mowgli Cycle," focusing on the wild child, which embodies philosophical questions about survival in a natural environment, as shaped by human societies from the Renaissance onwards.
