I would prefer the d-pad to be a bit stiffer and with more travel. Other than that, the build quality is quite good and the phone mounting mechanism is safe and smart.

It is exactly what I wanted as I searched for it quite a bit, but pay a bit more attention to the details because they are not very accurate. For example, it is listed as wired but that's only for connecting to a PC with USB-C in; for a mobile or tablet, there is no port inside the USB-C out, it only connects via Bluetooth. It is also compatible with both Android and Apple according to the official 8bitdo page (perhaps due to newer firmware or because Apple has lowered some of its requirements for official compatibility, as in older reports it is written that only the versions with Xbox branding are compatible with Apple, but 8bitdo says otherwise).

I ordered the plain white model but they sent me the black one with Xbox branding which has some minor differences. I kept it as it had been delayed and I didn't want to go through the process of exchanging it, although I was annoyed.

As for the controller, it is of very good quality, beautiful and comfortable to use, and with my Poco X7 Pro phone it fits perfectly (even with the silicone case provided by Xiaomi) and makes it look like a real portable console, and on the PC it is recognized as an Xbox controller so it has the expected compatibility. It is also quite sturdy and not excessively wide without the phone, so it is comfortable on the PC as well.

I bought it exactly for this dual use, to replace the Dual Shock 4 I had for the PC which has worn out and to have something for my phone as well. The only minor annoyance, precisely because it is made for portability, is that when you press A you slightly touch the right stick with your finger. Basically, it's not even an annoyance, just an observation, as this doesn't happen on most full-size controllers.

I will only be annoyed if they soon announce an Ultimate Mobile 2 with USB-C out and vibration, which this one doesn't have, haha!

All functions have a good feel and feedback, it also has two rear buttons which, although normally are only for copying another button or combination and not extra, you can make them do something impossible to use normally, e.g. left + right together on the d-pad, and then assign this seemingly impossible combination to another function in Steam Input or in emulators and elsewhere. However, for simple out-of-the-box use, you can either make them a combination for convenience, e.g. A+Y, or just duplicate buttons you want quicker access to, without having to let go of a movement stick first.

The d-pad is also excellent, without incorrect entries of different directions which I've read was a problem with older 8bitdo models, as even though this doesn't have Ultimate 2 branding, it has the same improved mechanism as all their new controllers. I tested it immediately because I was worried about it for 2D, fighting, and retro games as it's my first from this company, but it's definitely satisfactory, like the Fighting Commander from Hori. Definitely superior to official Sony or MS ones.

The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is the price. Nowadays you can find very cheap and quality controllers with hall effect sticks etc. which this also has, e.g. for about 20 euros from Gamesir or even 8bitdo itself in other models that are also compatible with mobiles. I don't think the telescopic mobile holder costs enough to fully justify the price difference. Of course, in this category it is also relatively affordable, but still Gamesir has some cheaper or similar ones, with vibration and USB-C connectivity, depending on the model. I chose this one because it suited me in everything: appearance, dimensions, analog triggers and not just buttons, as I also want it for Dreamcast emulation, etc., so it was almost a one-way street for what I was looking for. I just think it could be a bit cheaper, although some other companies definitely have double or more the price without offering something that much better, so everything is relative.

It doesn't play CODM, PUMG, and I don't know about the others. You have to connect it with Madrix Pro and that makes it difficult, it's not fast and it's laggy. If you play CODM, stay away
