The Makita DPJ180Z plate joiner is powered by an 18 V battery and features a dust extraction system with a swivelling nozzle for connection to a vacuum cleaner. It has six preset cutting depth settings, up to 20 mm, and the angle fence adjusts with positive stops at 0°, 45° and 90°.

The anti-restart function and electronic current limiter protect against accidental restart and overload, respectively, with warning lights. The spindle lock and blade cover, which opens using clamping screws, make blade changes easier. The battery and charger are not included.
