  • A work of art that everyone should play, plain and simple. The gameplay might feel a bit strange at first, but you will like it.
Whatever I write about the story, music, art direction, actors, direction, etc. is not enough. It is worth every last euro.
Especially the entire soundtrack is a musical shock and awe

Yes, it is beautiful, yes it has excellent graphics, but it is turn based which for my taste is extremely boring as a game genre.
Neither did its music impress me, it's just ok... as I said, it's a matter of taste.

A poetic game for gaming. It is the absolute 10 out of 10 game and it absolutely deserved to win game of the year for 2025. I played it through game pass and I will probably buy it retail to play it again in a few years.

It truly conveys timely messages, poses dilemmas, and generally keeps you alert. You can't wait to see the next cutscene without getting bored by pointless dialogues. The performances are incredible, the soundtrack is stunning, and the gameplay is delightful as soon as you get the hang of it. I admit that in the first 5 hours I struggled a bit with the abilities, skills, and the unique combat style.

But when you give it time and understand a bit how it works, then you don't want to let it go.

Flawless and impressive effort from its studio.

Obviously worth 40 euros and more.

Clair Obscur means Black and White and is a form of painting in art.

Nothing is randomly placed in the game.

Unique experience! Excellent story, graphics, music, artwork. I understand that some people may not like the turn-based combat system, but there is always the option for story mode where the battles are easy and you can enjoy everything else!

There are no words to describe this game.
I have been playing games for 30 years and very few titles have made me feel such emotions. Even from the prologue, where the characters are practically unknown to you, it moved me, it drew me in, it made me feel part of the story. Perfect music, turn-based combat that also combines parry & dodge mechanics, and the story... a story that simply does not exist. Buy the game, guys, support such studios, read about where the team of people who made it came from. It is a modern miracle, a game that comes out once every 10+ years. For those who come after

The game is a pleasant surprise. In terms of graphics and world, depiction, etc., it is beautiful. Its story is moving and not in a cheap way. As for gameplay, it is a JRPG. Open world, many locations, skills, abilities, stats, effects, etc. The combat is turn-based but with mechanics like parry and dodge that keep you alert. Don't let that discourage you, it's not something in the style of Souls. And it also has difficulty options. Another thing that stands out is its music. It is very fitting and amazing. I liked the world, the era, let's say, which is a mix of fantasy and reality, France, Belle Époque.
A negative is the absence of manual save, but the game saves very often, e.g., you change a skill and it saves, but there is also a fixed save point, though it's not the usual manual. It also keeps about 9 saves so you can go back to previous ones in the same game. I hope this fresh effort is rewarded with GOTY, especially since in the era of 80 euro games, it costs 50.

This is an amazing game that truly deserves the attention of every gamer. It is available at a very good price, which makes it even more appealing. Its story is excellent, with a nice plot that keeps the interest high from start to finish. The soundtrack is impressive and plays a key role in creating a unique atmosphere. The main story lasts about 30 to 35 hours, offering a complete and satisfying experience for those who love content-rich single-player games.

The best "western JRPG" I have ever played. It had been years (maybe since I was a child) since I felt such intense emotions with a game. Well-written, with rich characters and a very interesting world, beautiful, amazing turn-based combat with wonderful effects and animations and so, so many options for builds. You can literally kill a boss in 1 hit if you build your team properly. The soundtrack is one of the best ever written for any medium. Even how this game was made is interesting.

You will get bored of it quickly if you are not a bit of a fan of this kind of thing, it's not for everyone, but beyond that, it's a game that was crafted down to the last detail; graphics, gameplay, story, music, beautiful landscapes, everything blends together harmoniously. Try it, it's worth it

I think the title Game Of The Year is a bit unfair to it...
I don't know where to start... Should I mention the incredible music? The direction? The cinematography? The story? The mystery? The graphics? Where should I begin? And all this at a suggested retail price of 50 euros?
It's the duty of everyone who likes story-driven games and not massive online competitive ones like Fortnite to support it.

Easily game of the year. Story. Gameplay. Soundtrack. Characters. Graphics. Everything is top-notch. If turn-based RPGs have a "problem" it's simply that you have to endure the opponent's turn. Well, not here. Not only do you not have to endure anything if you're good enough, but the counterattacks you can perform are the best and most satisfying part of the game. Buy with your eyes closed. I honestly feel sorry for anyone for whom this is their first game because after this, good luck finding something similar.

I AM NOT EXAGGERATING AT ALL WITH WHAT I WRITE!
Honestly, it is an experience to play this game, I recently finished it and I simply have no words. I could write an entire 1000-word essay to say how amazing this game is. The graphics are as if they came out of a movie, *I* have no words for the Soundtrack, it is truly incredible. The story of the game... is enough for a Novel.
    ***SPOILER ALERT***
Even the characters are Perfect. Gustave, Maelle, Verso, Lune... All of them are made for the role they offer! I chose Maelle's ending (A life to Paint) and I believe this is the Canon Ending of the game. I don't know if I will go for the Platinum, it seems like a lot of Grind...
    EPILOGUE
I have *never* written so much for a game. I used to think that the best game *of all time* was Elden Ring (since I played it in the past) but now I have changed my mind. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Game of the year. Game of the decade!!!

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is one of the best games I have ever played. A gem that excels in every aspect — from the stunning visual style and moving music, to the unique combat system and its deeply emotional story.

It is impressive how a small studio managed to create such a complete and bold experience. This game is a stamp of optimism for the future of gaming — proof that creativity and soul can still triumph over size and budget. I hope we see more titles of such quality and boldness.

One of the best games I've played in the last 20 years, I highly recommend it.

The first game after a long time that kept me for hours wanting to know what would happen next without getting bored for a minute with the gameplay. Flawless and unique turn-based fight system, flawless soundtrack, flawless graphics, flawless characters. Flawless game. Its price is very low for what the game is!!

Guys, whatever I say is not enough, it's simply a magical game, very nice graphics and a story worthy of Final Fantasy and all this at a low price. I think along with Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, they will go for game of the year!

Try it, it's worth it

amazing game everywhere story gameplay characters graphics and friendly to players who have no experience in rpg, I would like it to have a recommended level for the missions, and a little more emphasis on strategy rather than the reflexes of each player.

  • Yes, it is beautiful, yes it has excellent graphics, but it is turn based which for my taste is extremely boring as a game genre.
Neither did its music impress me, it's just ok... as I said, it's a matter of taste.

  • A poetic game for gaming.

  • Unique experience! Excellent story, graphics, music, artwork. I understand that some people may not like the turn-based combat system, but there is always the option for story mode where the battles are easy and you can enjoy everything else!
