Description

Description

The new edition titled The Chronicle of a Bank. Eurobank - Eurobank. 1990-2000 Testimonies of Leonis P. Thanassoulas, published by Kalendis editions, will be presented on Thursday, January 23, at 17.00, at the Athens Concert Hall (George Marinou Hall).

The idea for the publication was conceived by Maria Risva and Nelly Tzakou, among the first executives of the Bank. Speakers for the book will include: Nikos Dimou (author), Nikos Nanopoulos (CEO of Eurobank 1996-2013), Fokion Karavias (CEO of Eurobank), Christos Sorotos (General Director of Eurobank), and Giannis Murgelas (Legal Advisor - Hellenic Bank Association).

The book is a collection of testimonies from the first executives of the Bank who were not formally hired to work for it but were essentially engaged to realize and promote the common endeavor of two leading figures in Banking in 20th century Greece, Georgios Gontikas and Dionysis Kotsounis, and an emblematic Greek entrepreneur of international stature, Giannis Latsis.

From the outset, the purpose of the book was to highlight the values and spirit upon which Eurobank was established, rather than an impersonal decoding of files and numbers. For this reason, the individuals who upheld these values and contributed to the evolution of the country's banking history during the transitional period at the end of the 20th century are illuminated.

The book is prefaced by Fokion Karavias and Nikos Dimou.
