The Ibanez JSM10EM-TTB Tragic Transition Brown is a semi-hollow-body electric guitar from the Artcore Expressionist series, designed in collaboration with renowned jazz and fusion guitarist John Scofield. Its body features a Linden top, back, and sides, delivering a warm, balanced acoustic character with rich mids. The semi-hollow construction incorporates an internal center block to reduce unwanted feedback at high volumes. The set-in JSM 100 three-piece Nyatoh and Maple neck is paired with a bound Walnut fretboard, 22 Medium frets, and Acrylic Block inlays. It is equipped with a set of Super 58 humbuckers with Alnico magnets, offering a vintage tonal profile, dynamic response, and excellent clarity. The Gibraltar Performer bridge, paired with the Quik Change III tailpiece, ensures precise intonation, tuning stability, and easy string changes.

Linden Body & Semi-Hollow Design

The body of the Ibanez JSM10EM is made entirely of Linden wood, providing a balanced acoustic foundation with a natural response in the mid and low frequencies. Its semi-hollow construction features an internal solid center block, which enhances sustain and allows the instrument to respond reliably to overdriven or distorted amplifier channels without unwanted feedback.

JSM Nyatoh/Maple Neck & Walnut Fingerboard

The neck is made from a combination of three pieces of Nyatoh and Maple, ensuring structural rigidity and resistance to humidity changes. It is joined to the body with a set-in joint for maximum vibration transfer. The Bound Walnut fingerboard features 22 Medium frets and is adorned with classic Acrylic Block inlays, offering a smooth feel when playing jazz and blues techniques.

Super 58 Pickups & Independent Controls

The guitar is equipped with Ibanez Super 58 passive humbuckers with Alnico magnets. This set is renowned for its warm, expressive vintage character, while maintaining note clarity in both clean and slightly overdriven (crunch) tones. The circuit features independent Volume and Tone controls for each pickup, allowing precise blending of the tonal colors via the 3-way switch.

Gibraltar Performer Bridge & Quik Change III

The Gibraltar Performer bridge features a low profile for comfortable right-hand positioning and precise string intonation adjustment. It is paired with the Quik Change III tailpiece, which features special slots for quick string threading and changing. The gold hardware completes the model’s overall aesthetic.
