Description

Description

What is the alternative right, internationally known as alt right, and what characteristics does it take in the Greek context? Under what conditions did it emerge, how does it differ and where does it converge with older forms of the far right in Greece;

Continuing the work of studying the far right and the way its discourse has been increasingly normalized in recent years, the authors of this book focus both on the transformations this political space has undergone – which, despite its declared “traditionalism,” is not at all static – and on the new actors who came to the forefront in the last five years.

Focusing on aspects of the anti-vaccine movement, the dynamic politicization of religion, the far-right internet space, reactions of the far right to the so-called woke agenda, as well as on public history, this collective volume attempts to approach the phenomenon by using the experience of the pandemic and the multiple reactions it generated as a dividing point.
