The electronic brake fluid tester checks the water content of DOT 3, DOT 4 and DOT 5.1 brake fluids. Fluid quality is indicated by 5 LEDs, and the device is intended for use in professional automotive workshops.
It must not be used with DOT 5 brake fluid or other silicone-based fluids. Brake fluid should contain no more than 1.5% water. A content of around 3% may be acceptable under certain conditions; above this level, the fluid must be replaced immediately.
