Purchase on 24/11/2025 from a well-known store with an initial K, red color, arrived quickly in good packaging, with the purpose of upgrading the sound from a TCL C805 50' TV for PS5 gaming, music, movies. a) If you don't listen to it, don't buy a soundbar... for TV, no upgrade at all because the TV speakers sound better without the hum from the bass even on low. b) In gaming, yes, there is a slight improvement but not much. c) Music, yes, better results. d) The app doesn't do anything special. e) The remote control is convenient and easy to use. f) The bar is large and heavy. g) The connection with HDMI ARC allows the TV remote to control the volume. It's powerful but my space is 12 square meters and I didn't hear this sound reflection. It replaced a Creative soundbar worth 80 euros (TCL 360 euros) and I expected much better results since it's much more expensive and... attention, choose a bar with rear speakers. After 3 months I found on the official TCL site update v43, downloaded it to USB from my computer, named it QX5H.UPG, installed it on the bar and the problem was fixed. Anyone with the same issue, do this and it will be resolved.

I give 3 stars and I justify it.

GENERAL IMPRESSION AFTER 1 MONTH OF USE
(And read a tip at the end because you'll struggle with Netflix if your TV doesn't support Atmos)

The soundbar creates a sense that the sound doesn't come only from the front, i.e., it somewhat disperses around you, but that's about it. Just enough... as they say. Just enough to somewhat justify what it claims to do for you to buy it. In no case, however, will you get real surround sound.

Of course, this "just enough" is "magical" to happen with only one soundbar and without satellite speakers, so it works. I can't say otherwise after 1 month during which I've watched many movies in Atmos format. I haven't tested it in other sound formats (e.g., Dolby Digital 5.1), but I believe it won't have the same performance.

I should add that in a few scenes in various movies I watched, I had the feeling that the sound came from my left or right, or from above. That excited me, but unfortunately, because the sound comes by reflection, it quickly fades and generally you don't hear it as often as with systems that have satellite speakers.

ATTENTION TO THE ROOM.

I imagine that if the soundbar is installed in the right room with the right proportions (so the sound reflects properly), this will happen more often, as in my living room the right side speaker, which is the R Surround, faces not a wall but an open door, so the sound doesn't find a surface to reflect in the space.

So for better results, I suggest equal distances at the ends of the soundbar from the two side walls, and leave a gap (space) behind the sofa so it doesn't touch the wall.

IS IT WORTH THE MONEY?

I bought it for 395 EUR. I think, based on price-performance, it's worth it.
If for some reason you can't or don't want to have satellite speakers, this soundbar will do the job and give you a slight sense of surround sound, but not a complete experience like soundbars with more upfiring speakers and satellite speakers.

CINEMATIC EXPERIENCE.

Here, yes, it's worth it and then some. The sound fills the space, the bass is amazing (although it overplays), the dialogues are clear, and occasionally, you get a taste of surround (pay attention to your space and distances for better results).

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE.

*The bass, even at the lowest setting (Low), is too much even in scenes where it doesn't make sense to have bass. It exaggerates many times.

Can it be fixed?

For some reason, if you enhance the treble, the bass is reduced and you don't hear it all the time, especially in scenes where it's not needed.

*Settings.

I've downloaded the TCL App and unfortunately, it gives you very few sound customizations. You can only enhance the dialogues, the bass, and the treble.

Fortunately, it gives you the ability to calibrate via your phone's microphone, but I don't think it does anything special since it doesn't set the volume per speaker as it should, but all together.

SOUND FROM TV SOURCE, TV CHANNELS, ETC.

My answer here is simple. I don't talk to WEIRDOS!

We buy the soundbar for movies or... and for gaming.

For other sound sources, use the TV speakers.

TIP FOR Netflix

The TCL TV I have doesn't support Atmos, like my previous TV.

This means that suddenly, while movies on Netflix had the Atmos label, with the new TV all of them appeared as simple 5.1 in the audio description in the platform’s libraries.

So the soundbar was only playing D.D. 5.1 since that was the audio format Netflix was sending. (Obviously, Netflix did not recognize an audio receiver with Atmos capabilities, so it simply ignored that format in its libraries and sent everything as plain D.D. 5.1)

It took me almost 2 days to figure out what was wrong.

I knew that the TV doesn’t need to support Atmos to get Atmos signal from Netflix, as long as you have the TV connected to an AV receiver or a soundbar that supports this format, and that’s exactly what I had done.

I had connected the soundbar with ARC HDMI and had set it up correctly on the TV. I had also tried all 3 different connection methods, either Pass through, PCM, or Auto.

Still D.D. 5.1 sound.

By chance, when I set the TV to use only the soundbar by default instead of its own speakers—meaning when you turn on the TV, the soundbar also turns on automatically as the main audio source—then on Netflix, Atmos movies were enabled in its libraries, so I realized that only then did it recognize there was a receiver with Atmos capabilities, when I set the soundbar as the TV’s main audio.

Neither TCL nor Netflix mention this silly thing, but you have to discover it yourself.
