  • Well, it loses one star because in very bright sunlight you can’t measure distances over 1 meter. It also comes with an app called RangeFinder, with the latest version being 1.1.0, about 35 MB, but it is not available on Google Play and has to be installed manually, with its latest version being 2 years old!

    On the plus side, you can have up to 4 length measurements on the device screen at the same time (L1 to L3 and the latest one), which is about the size of a matchbox and has a wavy texture on the back so it doesn’t slip. It’s very nice that for Pythagorean and other measurements it guides you with a shape as to which side should be measured each time and shows all the measurements on the same device screen. Also very nice is that the measurements can rotate on all 4 sides as the device rotates, or be locked (I prefer the first).

    When someone first opens the package, they should not put the instruction manual at the very bottom, because the device comes out of the inner pouch with a little paper tab (pull) sticking out, and if it is not pressed down by the instruction manual, it gets stuck with the box casing and won’t open.

    It has the ability for continuous measurement, i.e. someone can aim the beam (laser) and see in real time through the app how far away it is. However, in this case the phone is needed so that the measurement is saved, not the button on the right side of the device, which usually saves the measurements. To do this, you have to press the down arrow on the measurement app screen and then the left button.

    One can add measurements through the calculator that the app has, as long as they press the arrow at the bottom of the screen, select from the available measurements (one at a time), do the calculations, save the measurement, copy it, and finally enter it as a comment and not as a separate measurement in an already existing measurement. This is so that the measurements taken with the device do not accidentally change... In the “add comment” field, spaces are inserted after the words have been typed, i.e. someone writes “distancewidth” and then goes between the i and the p and adds the space. Greek is recognized.

    It is also possible to enter measurements both on the level and on images, e.g. the height of a window and its width, through the draw option, which is found in the app from the bottom arrow, and the draw button on the right.

    I measured about 20 meters in the afternoon by gradually aiming at that maximum distance on a wall. The beam color is red. The battery lasts long enough to make many measurements during the day.
