The InLine 66639I card adds four COM1/RS232 DB9 serial ports to a computer and is based on the MCS9865 chipset. It is compatible with the PCI Local Bus Specification 2.3 and the 16C550 UART standard, with automatic IRQ and I/O address selection.

Each port has a 256-byte FIFO for transmission and reception, with transfer speeds of up to 115.2 Kb/s. Hardware and software flow control are supported, as are 5-, 6-, 7-, 8- and 9-bit serial formats. The card supports PCI power management, PCI IRQ sharing and the use of multiple cards in the same computer.
