A distinctive person, Inspector Alexandros Saliveros, in a fictional island of Greece, New Alexandria, is called to solve a series of strange crimes by a murderer who refers to himself as "Doge." Saliveros' methods are peculiar. One might say this man is not a policeman, but a drunken poet.

He tries to maintain his relationship with his fiancée Daphne, who is studying in Corfu, alongside his professionalism, which is frequently threatened by his utterly crazy colleague from Italy, "Gaitano." This admittedly strange story combines elements from both the Island of the Phaeacians and the Libro d'Oro (The Golden Book during Venetian Rule), the neighboring island of Corfu, Vido, as well as an alternative Greece filled with mystery, urban legends, but also plenty of humor and satire.

Comedy mingles with seriousness, and terror intertwines with action.
