Down provides insulation, while the combination of materials helps maintain warmth in damp conditions caused by snow or drizzle.

The model is inspired by the jacket worn by Matsubara during his ascent of Mount Dhaulagiri in the Himalayas in 1997 and can be packed down compactly.
