“It is much harder to love a tough character than an easy one.”

He is an actor, famous and handsome. He needs a bodyguard to watch his back.
She is freshly single, sad, and throws herself into work.
She knocks on his door to introduce herself as his bodyguard and he mistakes her for a cleaner.
    That went really well, right?
Hannah and Jack seem to be polar opposites but in the end, could they be more attracted to each other than they can handle?

The most anti-toxic and cute story I’ve read this year and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Aaaaah!
Easy, pleasant, and funny, this book came to life like a true rom-com before my eyes.
A bit of the Texas countryside, a bit of the characters’ romance, and a bit of action that happily led to a sweet love—well! I don’t need much more… Yes, absolutely!!!!

Extra points for the characters who lived their love without drama and unnecessary noise, with a relationship that was built slowly and methodically on lots of mishaps and plenty of laughter. You just have to love them!!!

Hannah is dynamic and focused on her goal, while Jack is the boy next door camouflaged in the prestige of a charming actor, but he hides a golden heart, ready to surrender to his girl, Hannah.
They will soon realize there is an attraction between them that, while not shouting, gives time and space to their wounds.

Our story can be read by younger ages as it contains no spice at all, and I also consider the characters to be role models and their relationship healthy and exemplary.

I recommend it to anyone scrolling through Netflix looking for a good romantic comedy.

  • The Bodyguard by Katherine Center was for me one of those books that I particularly enjoy, as it belongs to one of the literary genres that I love and often choose. The story follows Hannah Brooks, a professional bodyguard, who is assigned to protect the famous actor Jack Stapleton from a persistent fan. When Jack returns to his family ranch in Texas to care for his sick mother, he asks Hannah to pretend to be his girlfriend so that his family won't worry about his need for protection. Where could this fake romance possibly lead?

Initially, I really like this role reversal and the diversity from the start. Center manages to overturn stereotypes, presenting a dynamic woman in the role of protector and a vulnerable man who needs support. Her writing is full of humor, emotion, and authenticity, creating a story that would be ideal for a film adaptation. The characters are multidimensional and their development makes the book an enjoyable reading experience.

If you love romantic stories with humor, emotional depth, and characters that break the mold, The Bodyguard is an excellent choice. It is a book that makes you smile, feel moved, and believe in love that is born under the most unexpected circumstances.
