Lens hoods protect your lenses from impact as well as the creation of flares from light sources that can ruin your image.

The hood is detachable from the support ring and reversible for easy storage, keeping any filters and caps in place, regardless of the orientation of the hood. This allows you to use the original lens cap or the larger cap included in the kit, while also keeping protective filters in place, no matter how the hood is attached.

Lens hoods are primarily designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens, extending and shading the edge of the lens. Additionally, as the edge of the lens is extended, it also offers extra protection from accidental impacts. This hood maximizes the coverage of the hood with minimal weight and minimal hood surface area, due to its flower shape.
