With Adafruit STEMMA boards, you can easily and securely connect sensors and devices, such as this Adafruit STEMMA speaker - plug and play audio amplifier. It features a Class D audio amplifier and a compact 1 Watt 8 ohm speaker.
Connecting is simple - you only need a ground, 3 to 5V power supply, and an audio signal. The audio signal does not need to be AC coupled, as we take care of that, and can vary up to the supply voltage (3 or 5V peak-to-peak). You can use either the 3-pin JST connector or the alligator/sew-pad connections for this slim and portable device.
Sound quality is sufficient for music, tones, speech, whatever you wish, and the volume can be adjusted with a small screwdriver.
For use with CircuitPlayground or micro:bit, the JST to alligator-clip cable works best. Red is power, ground is black, and signal is white. For use with a breadboard, try the JST to male/plug-header. (We also offer a socket-header cable if you wish).
