Openings
The benefits that a guitarist gains from studying exercises with openings are self-evident. Nevertheless, these exercises are very tiring due to the immobility of some fingers for a long period and the large openings required by the other fingers. Methodical study with frequent breaks is required to relax the hand.
Most of these exercises start from the 7th position, where the distances between the frets are small, and continue chromatically towards the 1st position, so that the openings gradually increase. The thumb of the left hand moves downward, helping the other fingers to open, without losing contact with the neck of the guitar.
The most important element for the correct execution of these exercises is to keep the fingers on the strings for as long as the lines indicate.
