Book Two continues the principles established in Book One, with Chester the frog guiding the student through the book. Again, the pieces are stylistically diverse and include folk themes, excerpts from classical works, modern adaptations of traditional children's songs, blues, and new pieces.

This book focuses on music creation by the student, leaving theoretical explanations, such as scale formation, key, tonality, etc., until Book Three. The child should be encouraged to compose their own music using the knowledge they have acquired so far and through free explanation.

As a guide for the Teacher and Parent, there is an information area at the top of each page, highlighted by Chester the frog with a hat and academic gown. There is an addition of accompanying pieces for many of the parts included in this book. Two versions are provided for each of the accompanying pieces, the first for the Teacher and the second simplified for the Parent or friend.
