Description

Thuasne Ligaflex Finger immobilization splint, with protective cover for injured fingers. Includes 4 straps, two fixed and two removable, for support and adjustment of tightness. The wrist strap has an anatomical shape to improve comfort during use. The rigid base restricts the movement of the long fingers (2nd, 3rd, and 4th), while the articulated one is for immobilizing the metacarpophalangeal and interphalangeal joints. Two retention positions: palmar or dorsal for optimal immobilization. Dual-sided use. Machine washable.

Application

Ideal for finger injuries (sprains, dislocations, ligament tears) and for postoperative/post-traumatic immobilization.

Size

  • 1: 12.7cm - 14.60cm
  • 2: 15.24cm - 17.14cm
  • 3: 17.78cm - 19.68cm
  • 4: 20.32cm - 22.86cm

Treatment of finger fractures

Proper fracture management is key to full recovery. Failure to understand the importance of the injury leads to inadequate treatment. According to international studies, 25% of hand fractures are inadequately treated in hospital emergency departments. The goal of treatment is to restore the normal function of the hand, achieving the restoration of bone structure and early mobilization to avoid stiffness.

Treatment can be either conservative or surgical.

Conservative treatment

Non-displaced closed fractures can be treated conservatively with immobilization in a splint. In mild deformities, closed reduction maneuvers can lead to a good outcome, but caution is required, as a reduced fracture may lose its reduction.
