This image from Mount Athos is an expression of faith and prayer. The original image belonged to Saint John of Damascus. When his severed hand was miraculously restored by the Virgin Mary, the saint dedicated a hand-shaped replica to the image, which since then bears three hands. In the 12th century, the image was gifted to Chilandar Monastery, where it has been venerated ever since.
A reproduction of it is placed in Plexiglass for protection and display. The iconography follows traditional artistic techniques while incorporating modern elements. Dimensions: 10.5 x 14 cm.
