This delicate icon depicting the Assembly of the Holy Unmercenaries is crafted according to the traditions of Orthodox iconography. It represents the Saints who practiced medicine without charge, the most well-known among them being Saints Cosmas and Damian. Its original form was created by monks of Mount Athos. A lithographic copy of it is mounted on artificial wood, the upper edge of which forms an arch, adding extra elegance to the whole.
