This delicate oval icon of Saint Philip is depicted according to the traditions of Orthodox iconography. A lithographic reproduction of it is affixed to an artificial wood surface, whose upper side has a curved shape, adding extra elegance to the whole.

Saint Philip was native to Galilee and was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus. He was chosen by the Lord as His disciple and offered Nathaniel faith in Christ. He preached the Gospel in the region of Ptolemais and suffered a martyr's death in Hierapolis of Syria. His memory is honored every year on November 14th.
