Description

Maple syrup is made from the sap of maple trees. In the cold climate of Canada, the trees store starch in their roots and trunk before Winter. In early Spring, holes are made in the trunks of the trees, and the sap is collected in buckets.

After collection, the maple syrup is heated to remove the water it contains. Today, the name is protected, and there are grades to distinguish their quality: Extra Light, Grade A, and Grade B, with the best being Extra Light, which is the first harvest.

Its special characteristics include the content of manganese and zinc. Two teaspoons contain 34 calories.

Maple syrup is a healthy sweetener, rich in nutritional elements, that accompanies muesli, beverages, puddings, desserts, and yogurt. Unlike honey, when heated, it does not lose its valuable nutrients.

This delicious sweetener is antioxidant and contains riboflavin, essential for energy production, as well as zinc and calcium. Both its texture and taste pair well with ice cream or yogurt.
