The review concerns the TA-1684 DS model. It was purchased from a physical store of a large electronics chain. I preferred to buy from a physical store because I realized there are different versions of the same phone, with differences in software and hardware. I wanted to be sure it was a product intended for the Greek market and not some parallel import. The price was also at the same level as online stores. I would suggest contacting the store before making a purchase, to be sure you are not getting a device with Greek Google Translate.

The model I bought has a type-c port, which I consider essential as it is much more reliable and user-friendly than micro-usb. The package only includes a usb-a to type-c cable of satisfactory length. This particular version also does not have the issues I read about from others with spelling in the language, words overlapping each other, etc. It has a 3.5 mm headphone jack at the bottom, a dual led lens at the top. I would describe the menu as average in difficulty for someone who is not familiar with such devices. It has some usability issues but nothing disappointing.
Call quality is typical of a 2g mobile, the keyboard is ok without buttons being pressed twice, etc. With normal use, the battery lasts several days, since there is not much to do unless you load it with songs or use the radio all day (it works even without headphones connected). It has no internal memory at all, so you need a micro sd for songs. The sim cards it accepts are mini sim type, i.e. the large ones.

On the "negatives":
1) It has an annoying keypad sound which fortunately can be turned off from the settings, otherwise the phone would be unbearable for even 2 minutes.
2) The top right button provides access to the radio and unfortunately you cannot change it. So if you are going to give it to an elderly person, open the radio, turn it all the way down and then turn it off, hoping everything will be fine. Fortunately, it keeps the setting and stays low if someone opens it by mistake.
3) Also yes, it has pre-installed games that cannot be deleted and have as their first menu option the purchase. Only Snake is free.
4) In contacts, when you enter a name you cannot use many characters, so you save them with abbreviations or cut off. For example, instead of Nikos Papadopoulos which it does not accept, you save it as Nikos Pap for example. I want to believe that those who use such phones will not have endless contacts so it is not a big problem in my opinion.

It's just fine, 5 stars for its price, I don't know what some people expect here for 28 euros. I got it for my father, I'm thinking of getting one for myself to maybe get some peace from the screen. I will update if any issues arise in the future.

Unfortunately unacceptable (especially for elderly people) for the following reasons:

• It has poor build quality.
• The menu has pre-installed PAY games; if the user opens them by mistake, the first option is BUY and it will charge your SIM.
YOU CANNOT DELETE THEM.
• The up/down/left/right buttons are small and poorly designed. Even I was accidentally pressing two buttons at once, or pressing OK without wanting to... let alone an elderly person.
• On the keyboard, the top-right "---" button opens the radio.
You CANNOT change this. As I said before, it is very easy to press it by mistake. When the radio opens, it makes loud static and it is not obvious how to close it; the user will automatically feel panic and annoyance.
This will keep happening; I pressed it by mistake 5-6 times.
(Many phones put contacts on that button, so some users will press it out of habit and be disappointed)

Also, let me note that it has no storage at all unless you insert an SD card.
I mention this because, for factories, 4GB costs 8 cents.
They didn't even put 2GB, or 1GB, not even 100MB, not even 40MB...
This means they wanted to save even that cost. (without lowering the product's price)

In general, there is a pattern of features that show the Nokia 105
is a product that from start to finish was made for maximum profit in a market and nothing else.

They didn't ask any engineer or UX designer to think about how the phone would be used. The whole production was 100% to have a minimum-viable-product and nothing else.
Especially with the predatory practices with the games that cannot be deleted and are there exclusively for a child or elderly person to press BUY.
Even the "new" software they put in (called S30 or S30+) is 100% locked, even if it is based on Android.

Generally, when a company doesn't care about its products beyond profit, vote with your wallet and choose something else.
(Unfortunately Nokia / HMD is not worth it, at least for these models)

The review is about the model Nokia 105 TA-1557. For some of the things I write, I attach photos. The device is disappointing in use, especially in Greek. The translation of words, e.g., "Go To" to "Παώ..." (exactly as I write it) is at least poor. The options on the screen do not scroll, so if, for example, the Greek word does not fit horizontally, we must choose from memory or switch to English. There are duplicate options, e.g., "Ρυθμίσεις κλήσεώ...", there are unknown options, e.g., "Τρο...", on the home screen the word "Ράδιόφώνο" (with three accents) overlaps with "Μενού". To unlock, it requires one press on No, and one on the top left button. However, if the screen has turned off, then two presses on No and one on the top left button are needed. For an elderly person, this can be a problem. And now to the very wrong: The top right button opens the radio. It does not change (I also downloaded the Nokia manual). It is exclusively for the radio. This radio opens even without a connected cable. And it can happen accidentally, creating pandemonium without being able to turn it off with one press. You have to enter the radio menu to turn it off. I bought it for an elderly person and will send it for recycling. It is one of the few such negative reviews I have ever made. I bought it because I saw three fives here. I consider it my duty to inform you and have you confirm what I write before you purchase it.
