This particular expression of Finlaggan whisky was distilled in Islay and matured exclusively in red wine. The barrels come from the Rioja region in the Basque country of Spain, adding an extra fruity dimension to the heavily peated Islay whisky.

• Nose: Smoky and peaty aromas intertwined with lovely sweet red berries as well as dried fruits and a hint of oak vanilla.
• Taste: Notes of smoked bacon, strawberries, plum, sea salt, and earthy peat. Slight grape tannins from the barrel in which the whisky matures are also discernible.
• Finish: Prolonged sweet smoke.
