Description

Audio-Technica expands its direct-drive turntable lineup with the semi-automatic AT-LP8X, which features a newly designed turntable lift system that automatically raises the turntable at the end of a record side and stops the motor.

The turntable's J-shaped aluminum tonearm, inspired by classic A-T models from the '60s and '70s, is equipped with a newly designed AT-LT10 head shell and AT-VM95E BK (black) cartridge with a 0.3 x 0.7 mil elliptical stylus, providing excellent channel separation and low distortion for outstanding sound quality. For easy customization, the stylus can be replaced or swapped with any of the five additional styli in the VM95 series, while the VTA (vertical tracking angle) adjustment and the tonearm's counterweight allow for the use of a wide range of other cartridges.

The AT-LP8X plays 33-1/3, 45, and 78 RPM records. The 25 mm die-cast aluminum platter with rubber damping, anti-resonance, is accompanied by a 2.5 mm rubber mat and is driven by a sensor-controlled motor that ensures consistently accurate platter rotation speed.

The motor and efficient internal switch-mode power supply are housed within an MDF (medium-density fiberboard) plinth frame equipped with height-adjustable feet for excellent protection against unwanted noise and vibrations. The turntable comes with a detachable RCA output cable (dual male RCA to dual male RCA with ground), a 45 RPM adapter, and a removable hinged dust cover.

Too many words are unnecessary, it is a reference turntable that is worth its money and I tested it on the anti-skating where it has performance, stability, and aesthetics, and of course what really matters and is missing in many turntables is that at the end when the record finishes, the tonearm lifts and the platter stops, which is a big advantage so that the record and the needle are not worn out and of course so you don't have the stress of rushing!
