Description

The Datacolor LightColor Meter removes the uncertainty from your camera's exposure settings. The wireless meter, which connects via Bluetooth, measures all types of lighting and color temperature and transmits the data in real-time to your smartphone (iOS/Android) through the free Datacolor LightColor Meter app. This saves time during on-site preparation and post-production.

Better than your camera's internal meter

Why measure manually instead of just relying on your camera's internal meter? The camera's internal meter uses object measurement, measuring the light reflected from the subject to the camera. With the LightColor meter, you can measure both the direct light falling on a subject and the scattered light, so the measurements are independent of the subject's reflectivity. This is particularly useful when photographing subjects with high contrast.

The object measurement provided by your camera's internal meter offers an average exposure. In high-contrast shots, e.g., with very dark or bright areas, the reliability of the measurements is critical.
