Description

Description

The Intel® Core Ultra 7 265 is an advanced processor from the Core Ultra series (Series 2), designed with the Arrow Lake architecture and Socket 1851, targeting demanding users, content creators with AI needs, multitasking, and gamers.

Total Cores: 20

8 Performance-cores (P-cores) for heavy tasks & demanding applications

12 Efficient-cores (E-cores) for simultaneous light processing and energy saving

The base operating frequency of the Performance-cores is 2.4 GHz, with the ability to increase up to 5.3 GHz via Turbo Boost. The Efficient-cores operate at a base frequency of 1.8 GHz and can reach up to 4.6 GHz. The processor features 30 MB Intel® Smart Cache and supports DDR5 memory. The base power consumption is 65 W, with a maximum power consumption during Turbo operation of 182 W. It is aimed at users who desire strong performance for demanding applications and gaming, offering an excellent balance between performance and energy efficiency.

Comparison with the previous generation

The Intel Core Ultra (series 2) have 40% lower power consumption compared to the previous generation Raptor Lake. They provide up to 9% increased IPC (Instructions per Clock) performance in the cores and 32% in the threads.

Advanced hybrid architecture

The "Compute" tile of the new Intel® Core™ Ultra (series 2) includes two core clusters: the high-performance P cores (Performance) and the low-power E cores (Efficiency), utilizing Intel's innovative "Performance Hybrid Architecture." The P cores (code name Lion Cove) are designed for exceptional performance in single-threaded or lightly-threaded applications. The E cores (code name Skymont) are optimized for lower power consumption and are activated to boost performance in multi-threaded applications, minimizing interruptions from less critical processes. The revolutionary Intel® Thread Director manages and prioritizes the workflows.

Superior Performance

The new P (Performance) and E (Efficiency) cores offer improved IPC (Instructions Per Clock) performance compared to the previous generation. The high-performance Lion Cove cores feature 18x execution ports and 3 MB L2 Cache per core, providing up to 9% higher IPC compared to the previous generation Intel® Core™ P cores. On the other hand, the Skymont cores demonstrate double the L2 Cache bandwidth, have 4 MB L2 Cache per core, and offer up to 32% higher IPC compared to the previous generation E cores (Gracemont) in integer calculations and up to 72% higher IPC in floating-point calculations. Both core clusters (P-core cluster and E-core cluster) have access to up to 36 MB Shared Intel® Smart Cache.

With integrated NPU

The Intel® Core™ Ultra processors (series 2) are the first announced by the company for the desktop platform that feature a specialized Neural Processing Unit (NPU). The NPU integrated into the processor dramatically accelerates Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications and contributes to energy savings. From image processing and video processing with AI to creative AI, streaming, and gaming, the integrated AI capabilities of the Intel® Core™ Ultra processor (series 2) keep you at the cutting edge of technology. The 3rd generation specialized Neural Processing Unit (NPU 3) offers performance up to 13 TOPS in training reasoning and AI inference models.

Xe-LPG architecture graphics

The integrated Intel® Arc™ Graphics processing unit with Xe-LPG architecture features up to 4x Xe-cores and 4x Ray Tracing units and incorporates Xe vector computing engines and a capable Xe Media Engine (supporting video up to 8K @ 60 Hz with 10-bit HDR, VP9, AVC, HEVC, AV1, and SSC encoding capabilities, etc.) while also supporting DirectX® 12 Ultimate and the upscaling technology called XeSS (DP4a instructions are supported). The integrated graphics offer performance of up to 8 TOPS in terms of training and inference of artificial intelligence models (AI Inference).

New Intel 800 Series Chipset

The Intel Core Ultra 200S series processors, combined with the new Intel 800 Series chipset, expand platform compatibility, providing up to 24 PCIe 4.0 lanes, 8 SATA 3.0 ports, and 10 USB 3.2 ports. These capabilities allow users to leverage the most modern connectivity, storage, and other function technologies.

Intel AI Optimization

Allowing faster execution and more efficient resource utilization for demanding AI tasks, it offers up to 50% increased performance.
