The Dyson Airstrait hair straightener straightens and dries wet hair at the same time, using airflow instead of heated plates. Dyson Hyperdymium technology creates high-speed, high-pressure airflow, while warm air is directed towards the hair at a 45° angle for straightening and smoothing. The airflow temperature is regulated 30 times per second by temperature sensors in the device body.

The two styling modes cover straightening wet hair and refreshing dry hair. The high-definition colour LCD screen displays the mode, airflow and temperature settings. When the hair is not being held, the airflow is automatically reduced, while the device switches off after 3 seconds of inactivity.
