The Fanar 12 mm drill is made of sintered carbide and features an Oerlikon Balzers Futura Nano (TiAlN) PVD coating. It has a 140° point angle and a Type C (Split Point) cutting edge. It is suitable for use in CNC machine tools and for drilling metals and plastics.
The coating has a microhardness of 3300 HV and allows operation at temperatures up to 900 °C. Compared with high-speed steel tools, it enables the use of higher cutting parameters.
